School, language captains have been appointed in years 3 to 6.  The captains will support the class  teacher in ensuring  that Spanish practice takes place throughout the week.  They will also help their fellow pupils practice in the playground through songs and games.  Each week they will meet with their Spanish teacher to report on what they have done and to receive advice on the activities for the following week.

During half term,  teachers from our three schools visited our partner schools in Madrid as part of an funded Erasmus programme to develop Spanish language teaching.

The school curriculum was shared and joint learning activities were planned for the Spring and Summer terms.  Our children were very excited about the visit and prepared questions and letters which the teachers delivered to the Spanish children. The different teaching methods seen, teaching English to Spanish children and the cultural visits sparked lively conversations. We are fortunate that more staff will be able to take up the this opportunity next Spring.
