Bring a significant male
On Thursday 29th September, we wanted to show some appreciation to the significant males in the children’s lives. We asked all Dads, Granddads, Uncles, Brothers, Godfathers and any other Male that means a lot to the children to spend an hour in school to see what goes on!
It was an amazing turn out and we want to say a huge thank you! We look forward to the ‘bring a significant female’ day.
Roald Dahl Day
September 2016 marked 100 years since Roald Dahl was born -arguably the world’s number one children’s story teller of all time. George’s Marvellous Medicine, BFG and Fantastic Mr Fox, are just a few examples of his brilliant work. To celebrate all of the amazing books he has written, we dressed up as famous characters. Look at all our fantastic costumes. Can you guess who we all are?
The Summer Fayre is a perfect way to end the year, bubbles laughter & a bouncy slide! The sun was also shining so it couldn’t of got any better.
We had big plans to head to the park, enjoy a day in the sun and have a lovely picnic with our packed lunches. Unfortunately on sports day the weather wasn’t on our side, so we headed to the halls and the playground but this did not dampen our spirits!
Even though it wasn’t what we planned we had a great day, and showed off our skills. One of the best skills that was shown through out the day was team work. The children worked so well together and encouraged and supported each other.
World Book Day
We love World Book Day here at Hoxton Garden! Its one of our most favourite days of the year as everyone dresses up (even the teachers!).
We have loads of special guests that come and visit us through out the week of World Book Day, but we are very lucky to have our own author in residence; Nicola Davies! She visits us almost every month.
We have a lot of princesses and superheroes on this day, but I think we can all agree at one point we wanted to be either Spiderman or Cinderella!
Everyone had the choice to wear a Christmas jumper or the colours red and green to celebrate Christmas!
We enjoyed a lovely roast turkey dinner, made by our lovely chefs here at Hoxton Garden. Everyone was in the Christmas spirit and we even had crackers to celebrate with!
