Girls Cricket Festival
Miss Laila and Miss Salih took 10 year 6 girls to Hackney Downs to take part in a Cricket Festival! The girls did extremely well and were able to learn a variety of new sporting skills. Well done!
Clissold Cup Football Tournament
Miss Carr and Miss Gillham recently took nine Year 6 boys to the Clissold Cup football tournament, held at Clissold Park. It was the first time Hoxton Garden had entered the tournament, which involved a large number of Hackney schools, and they did fantastically well. The boys worked tremendously well as a team, organising themselves, discussing their tactics and showing wonderful sportsmanship. Having won 4 out of 5 games in their group, they made it to the final of the tournament! Unfortunately, the boys lost to Grasmere Primary School, with a respectable score of 3-2. Well done for getting to the final!
Pupils from Year 1 travelled to Queensbridge Sports Centre to take part in a multi-skills festival. Children were able to try a wide range of different sports! The children were very well behaved and had a fantastic time! Thank you to Mrs Crawford and Miss Happy.
BISI Badminton Festival
Ten year 2 children travelled to Kings Hall leisure Centre to take part in a BISI Badminton Festival. Even though the sport was very new to all pupils, they tried extremely hard and learnt plenty of new skills. The children showed fantastic sportsmanship and congratulated all teams who attended the event. Hopefully the children will have found a passion for badminton and will want to continue to play. Huge thank you to Miss Natalie and Miss Bianca for taking the children on their visit!
Ten girls from Year 4 took part in a special PE event at Britannia Leisure Centre. The children played against other schools in activities such as, wheelchair basketball, Boccia and fencing. The girls performed tremendously well, winning two of the activities and drawing another. The inspiring teamwork really shone through and the team supported each other throughout, whilst also making some crucial decisions. They came away with a gold medal and all showed wonderful sportsmanship, congratulating all teams on their efforts.
