Apollo Music Project visited Hoxton Garden Primary School. This time Year 5 enjoyed watching and listening to a string quartet. They performed music by Joseph Haydn and Maurice Ravel. We listened to some beautiful pieces and then talked about the structure of the music. As we listened to different parts separately and together, we talked about how each piece made us feel. We learnt a lot of new information about the cello, viola and violin. We joined in with each performance by clapping the beat and some difficult rhythms. We enjoyed our music session and can’t wait for them to visit us again!
The Federation Choir:
Our Federation Choir is made of three choirs of Orchard, Hoxton Garden and Southwold Primary Schools. We regularly practice and perform together at various venues. We always have fun, learn great songs and make new friends across the sites. It is lovely singing together. We recently visited Orchard Primary school and started learning new songs for our Christmas concerts.
Y2 Children have been learning to play Pachelbel’s canon in three part.
Y6 Children learnt about Global music, musical traditions from different parts of the world. They composed their own pieces and performed to their peers.
